The New York Post is a daily newspaper based in New York City. As of 2024 the publication is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. 13 William Cullen Bryant, a poet and later abolitionist, became the second editor in 1829 and moved the newspaper to support President Andrew Jackson and the Democratic Party. Bryant later broke with Democrats over the issue of slavery, and Post supported the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 and the Republican Party candidates going forward. 0){
